The investment project to build Rao 1 bridge is a key traffic project of Hai Phong city in the period of 2021 - 2025. The project is invested by the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. with a total investment of over VND 2,260 billion from the city budget. Rao 1 Bridge was newly built at the old bridge position from October 13, 2020, crossing Lach Tray River and connecting Pham Van Dong and Lach Tray streets.
According to the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, Rao 1 bridge has a steel structure and prestressed reinforced concrete, 30.5 m wide and 456.5 m long, including 11 spans; The main span has steel arches, the span leads to hollow beams. The bridge spans the Lach Tray River connecting 3 districts of Duong Kinh, Hai An and Ngo Quyen. Rao Bridge 1 has a scale of 4 motor vehicle lanes, 2 mixed lanes, median strip, safety strip, and sidewalks on both sides.
Rao Bridge 1 is considered by the people as one of the beautiful, modern and iconic bridges of Hai Phong city.
The main bridge consists of 11 girder spans, 3 steel arches and 6 spans led by hollow girders, with 4 motorized lanes, 2 mixed lanes, medians, safety strips, and sidewalks.
