The Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Project is an important project in the development of transport infrastructure in the Northern region of Vietnam. This project includes the construction of a highway about 105 km long, connecting Hanoi capital and Hai Phong city.

The project was approved in 2011 with a total investment of about 8,300 billion VND (equivalent to about 360 million USD). However, due to difficulties in site clearance and financial issues, the project was behind schedule.

After many efforts, by 2020, the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway has officially been put into operation. This is one of the most modern highways in Vietnam, with a design speed of 120 km/h, 6 lanes and asphalt pavement from the beginning.

The Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is expected to help reduce traffic congestion between the two big cities, and at the same time create favorable conditions for economic and tourism development in the region.
